Why is AI literacy important, and what do I have to know?

In the rapidly evolving AI landscape, and with the EU AI Act coming into force, understanding Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer an option, but a necessity.

Article 4 of the AI Act is only 75 words long, but it could force your company to rethink its entire AI strategy from the ground up: it stipulates that from 2 February 2025, providers and operators of AI systems must ensure that their employees and anyone working with AI on their behalf have sufficient AI literacy.

  • But what does ‘sufficient’ actually mean?
  • What do you need to know?
  • How can competencies be checked?
  • Who is affected?
  • What happens in the event of non-compliance?
  • And: What does it mean to take into account the context in which the AI systems are to be used when teaching and defining sufficient AI literacy?
Our training courses are not off-the-shelf and are customized to the needs of our customers. This is particularly necessary with regard to the requirements arising from the AI Act for various business areas. Training can take the form of lectures with practical exercises or as multi-day courses - online, in person, at our premises, or at your premises.

  • AI interviews: 1-hour exchange of experiences
    One-hour, mutual exchange of experiences on the topic of AI. In the first half hour, the companies talk about how they are already using AI and their experiences with it. In the second half, FELD M will provide insights into internal solutions and our experiences. Topics we have presented include self-hosting of LLMs, experiences with RAG systems on internal documents, Responsible AI and Guardrails, building a meeting summary tool, AI Literacy Programme at FELD M.

  •  AI Discovery Workshop
    Using AI successfully means not only tackling new use cases, but also rethinking existing processes. With our workshop format, we support you in finding out whether and for what purpose you should use AI. Together, we go through existing processes, collect relevant areas of application, and evaluate them according to potential impact and actual feasibility. The joint, interactive work is supplemented by keynote speeches to make important terms and concepts from the field of AI tangible for you and applicable to your company.

What does the 2-day AI literacy deep dive training involve?

On the first day, interactive presentations and practical examples are used to create a common knowledge base among the participants. This broad approach ensures that participants understand the fundamental concepts of AI and gain confidence in applying AI principles in real-world scenarios.

The second day of our training is designed to enable your team to recognize and exploit the potential of AI in their daily work. Through an ideation and co-development session, participants will brainstorm real-world ideas and then create prototypes for AI applications that are specifically tailored to your organization's needs.

This unique opportunity allows your employees to experience first-hand how AI can improve efficiency, innovation, and decision-making in your organization.

Day 1: Understanding AI

Day one comprises the following:

  • Comprehensive introduction to AI: Definitions, concepts, and ethics.
  • An engaging mix of presentations and hands-on sessions with diverse AI tools on text, image, and audio generation.
  • Real-world examples showcasing AI applications across industries and in day-to-day work.
  • Focus on building participants’ confidence and comprehension of AI principles.

Day 2: Working with AI

Day two builds on the foundation established on day one and involves the following:

  • Participants apply AI insights to their own organizational contexts.
  • An ideation session will be held to brainstorm AI use cases both within your organization and as a service for potential users.
  • Collaborative development of initial AI prototypes for practical implementation.
  • Empowerment of participants to actively contribute to AI discussions and innovation within their organization.
